
Love & Adventure is what brought Angelo Italiani and Aldo Bertoli to Sydney, and eventually, to Mezzaluna.
In 1991, Angelo came to a crossroads in his life. Born in
Citta Sant Angelo, Pescara, Abruzzo on the Adriatic side of Italy, Angelo always had a passion for food.
After an illustrious career that spanned from The Montreaux Palace in Switzerland to
The Ritz Hotel in London,
Angelo wasn't sure whether he
should move back to Italy or explore
The Oceania with his wife. Adventure called - and they decided to explore the
Oceania,
and Angelo found himself in Sydney, working as restaurant manager at Machiavelli Ristorante for 10 years.
For Aldo, born in Monzone, Tuscany - love was what settled him down under in 1989 when he met his lovely wife.
Since a very young age, Aldo worked in the food industry. Starting his career early - Aldo began his love affair with food at a bakery
and later
became Commis chef at Hotel San Pietro
and also worked with Giuseppe Basso for fifteen years as his right hand.
Having settled in Australia, Aldo worked at the Blue Angel Restaurant for the next 16 years.
In 2008 Angelo and Aldo became the new business owners of Mezzluna bringing together over 40 years of experience in traditional Italian cusine.
Every day they endeavour to bring their experience, as well love and adventure that brought them to Sydney, to the customers of Mezzaluna.
